# Pinch Pull™ Produce Bags: A Different Approach to In-Store Dispensing

Learn how the Pinch Pull produce-bag format is designed to present one self-opening bag at a time and what retailers should consider before a store trial.

The moment a shopper reaches for a produce bag is a small but important part of the grocery experience. The bag needs to be visible, easy to grasp and ready to open, while the dispenser must fit naturally into the department and remain straightforward for store teams to replenish.

Pinch Pull™ approaches that moment differently from a conventional bag-on-roll format. The system is designed to present a single self-opening bag for the shopper to pinch and pull from the dispenser.

## How the format works

Pinch Pull uses a packed-bag format held inside a dedicated dispenser. One bag is presented through the opening so the shopper can grasp it directly. As that bag is removed, the next bag is positioned for use.

The format changes the interaction from finding a perforation and separating a bag from a roll to selecting a bag already presented at the dispenser. That makes the dispensing method itself part of the product decision.

## Why the dispenser belongs in the product conversation

A produce-bag review should consider more than film, dimensions and pack count. The fixture, shopper interaction and store process all affect whether the format works in practice.

For a Pinch Pull trial, retailers should establish:

- The intended produce-department location
- The dispenser style and available mounting or counter space
- Bag size, construction and opening requirements
- How replacement packs will be stored and loaded
- How shoppers and store teams respond to the dispensing method
- The approval process for the final bag-and-dispenser specification

These decisions should be made around the specific retail environment rather than assumed from a sample viewed away from the store.

## Build the trial around real shopper use

The clearest evaluation comes from observing the system under normal operating conditions. A controlled trial can assess whether shoppers notice the dispenser, understand the pinch-and-pull interaction and remove one bag cleanly. Store teams can also review loading, placement, housekeeping and replenishment.

Before the trial begins, the retailer and supplier should agree what will be observed, who will collect feedback and what would need to change before a wider introduction. This keeps the conversation focused on the experience at the fixture rather than relying on an unverified performance promise.

## Match the pack and fixture to the store

Pinch Pull can be discussed in different fixture and pack configurations, but the selected arrangement needs to be verified for the intended bag and location. Available space, expected traffic, replenishment routines and presentation standards may differ across store formats.

EP Group USA can support a product-level review covering the bag, dispenser options, samples and the requirements for a controlled store trial. Final construction, pack configuration, artwork and commercial availability remain subject to confirmation for the specific program.

## A product innovation shoppers can experience

Pinch Pull is not simply a different way to pack produce bags. It is a different dispensing interaction—one that brings the bag, fixture and shopper experience into the same product conversation.

For retailers reviewing produce-department formats, the next step is practical: define the application, confirm the proposed configuration and test it in the environment where customers and store teams will use it.
